Dr Amdad Ahmed is a Consultant Radiologist.

He was appointed at County Hospital Hereford in 2013 and has worked there since. His area of interest is Gastrointestinal Radiology. He is the co lead for the HPB, lower and upper GI MDTs. Dr Ahmed is the former College Tutor in charge of the Radiology Training Programme at Hereford between 2017 and 2022.

He set up the ST Radiology teaching programme at Wye Valley NHS Trust. He completed Radiology training in the West Midlands between 2008 and 2013 and also has completed a post CCST fellowship in Vancouver General Hospital, Canada.

He has previously worked at New Cross Hospital as a Foundation Year Two doctor between 2007-2008 and completed his Foundation Year One Training in University Hospital Birmingham in 2006.

He has degrees in Medicine and Medical Molecular Biology obtained at Warwick and Cardiff Universities between 1999 and 2006. He grew up in Cardiff and supports all the Welsh sports teams. Dr Ahmed’s interests include medical education. He is on the regional FRCR 2A committee and has been involved in FRCR 2B courses since 2012.

To date he has had over one hundred doctors attend his one and two day courses. His current project is to develop amaradiology into a resource to help doctors prepare for their exams and work as Clinicians
