Child in distress
Abdominal radiograph of a child. Tubes and lines appear appropriately positioned. Dilated loops of small bowel and right sided large bowel demonstrated. Pneumatosis is noted within the bowel wall. The appearance is suggestive of obstruction with ischaemia. I am concerned this represents necrotising enterocolitis. This is an emergency. I would urgently conveyed the findings to the referring team.
